Finally rested and prepared for the whole day of sighseeing !!!

Went to Kyoto Station for some traditional Japanense breakfast.

My breakfast

My wife's breakfast

Spend some time to search for the bus terminal, went one whole big round and we actually went to one of their bus stop to ask the locals. My wife asked one of the young lady and she got difficulties explaining, another older lady can't stand in and assisted, hahaha. Finally they directed us to the bus assistant that was stationed there and somehow, we managed to follow their pointing and found the bus terminal.

Tips: The bus terminal was actually just right in front of the main exit from Kyoto Station rail lines, remember that...hehe.

I saw from YouTube that there were kiosks that one could buy the bus ticket, being the terminal, long queues were formed. My wife suggested to go into one of the office located just beside the bus terminal and to get the one day bus pass.

One day bus pass - $600 yen

Tips: Per trip bus ride is $230 yen in Kyoto, irregardless you got up from the start of the terminal or midway. If you are taking 3 or more rides, then it is already worth it.

Once we gotten the pass, we went back to queue for bus 100, in the queue were 2 China ladies with one queuing for the ticket at the kiosk. We told them to go into the office to get a one day pass, much worth it. After discussing, one for lady quickly went in and gotten the pass as well, hehe. Turns out that they would staying in Kyoto for like 2 days only then to Osaka.

 Places visited

First stop was Sanjusangendo (三十三間堂, Sanjūsangendō), the popular name for Rengeo-in, a temple in eastern Kyoto which is famous for its 1001 statues of Kannon, the goddess of mercy.

Met one Taiwan old couple that were also going to Sanjusangendo, they mentioned their friends told them must visit. Hehe, not much tourist actually comes to this place, saw alot of bus load of students coming in.

2nd stop, Kiyomizudera (清水寺, literally "Pure Water Temple") is one of the most celebrated temples of Japan. Went out to the same bus stop and literally there were a lot of buses going to the place.

We actually gotten down at the bus stop Kiyomizu-michi, but the stop before, Gojozaka was the actual stop, can find the stops at this link. Hence we took quite a big detour and actually visited Yazaka pagoda first, part of the Hokan-ji temple.

This whole area is known as the Higashiyam district, you will see alot of ladies dressed in kimono and guys in traditional japanese outfit as well. If you takes picture along the street leading to the pagoda, it would be very beautiful.

Along the streets, there were alot of stalls selling food, snacks and small trinkets.

 Puff and ice-cream

Before going into Kiyomizudera, we decided to take our lunch first.

 More wishes

Smaller shrines

Going down the temple, you would see smaller pagodas and also more shrines.

This is the famous place where you can wash or drink abit of the purification fountain. There are 3 of them, it is said that if you took all 3, then you are being greedy. hehe.

If got sakura, the whole place would be prefect for picture taking.

Finally stop, we went to Nishiki Market, as usual, by bus, don't waste the one day bus pass. Reached around 4+pm, considered quite late as most of the tourist spot and attractions closed by 5pm, guess food stall as well.

Fresh scallots....

Finally we headed back to Kyoto Station to round off our day with the Ramen street.
